Workshop and Trunkshow

Although I am not ready for it September is just around the corner, and with that brings the start of fall classes in our shop. We are hosting an Open House on Wednesday, August 14 from 7pm-9pm for a full reveal of our classes, clubs and events for the upcoming fall and winter. There is no need to register to attend this event, just drop in and check out what we are offering.

I am going to reveal one workshop early, just because it is coming up quick. On September 13 and 14 we have Susan Madu coming to our shop to do 2 workshops and a trunkshow.
Susan is the face behind Modern Blended Quilts and has been quilting and garment sewing for over 25 years. She has created over 20 patterns ranging from pillows, table runners, quilts and some bags. She has designed her patterns to appeal to both traditional and modern quilters and blends together elements from both to create some really fun projects.

On Friday, September 13, Susan will be teaching the Geometric Pillow. The pillow has half square triangles, flying geese, and a little curved piecing. You will also learn how to add a flanged zipper for a neat and professional looking finish. The cost to attend is $40 plus supplies. The fee includes lunch. The class will run from 10am-4pm. The dorrs will open at 9:30am for setup.

Friday evening beginning at 7pm, there will be a trunkshow during which Susan will showoff her patterns and quilts. To attend there is a $20 fee and this will include dessert.

Saturday, September 14 there will be another workshop, this time for a quilt named Arrows. It is constructed using two sizes of 1/2 rectangles, which you will learn to piece accurately and efficiently. This class runs from 10am-4pm as well, with setup beginning at 9:30am. Again it is $40, with lunch included and supplies are extra.
If you wish you can sign up for both of the workshops and the trunkshow, doing so will save you $15.
You can sign up for any of the workshops or trunkshow by clicking here.
Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I have a couple projects to finish up before our class reveal on Wednesday so I am hoping to spend some time in my sewing room tomorrow.
