New Fabric: October

 Happy Monday. I hope you all had a good weekend, here in Coaldale the weather was beautiful and our family spent a lot of time outside. It was also the first year in quite a few that we did not have snow the first weekend of October, so that was a nice bonus. 

Today I have a few new fabric lines to share with you. 

We have the new Moda Lakeside Toweling in stock. If you click here you will find a good list of ideas on what to use it for and what to make. We did put a kit together called Sea Salt and it goes together super quickly. 

Hustle and Bustle by Basic Grey is a new Christmas Collection. Carrie made the quilt in the photo using one of the patterns from Sew A Jelly Roll Day called Step This Way, we are putting kits together for this and they should be available soon. 

Many of you have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Art Gallery Flannel, and it arrived just before Carrie's wedding. It is just as soft as I imagined it would be! It will be fantastic for quilts, backing, and even Pajama pants or pillow cases. 

Cozy Up by Corey Yoder is also available now. It is selling rather quickly so if it is on your must have list I suggest you act quickly. We made a couple kits up for this line, one is sold out already but we still have kits for Roadside Harvest and Scrappy Happy Village.

And for all the glampers we have a new collection instore for you too. It is called Joy in the Journey. 

This week Thursday-Saturday is our Fall Clearance Sale in our Classroom, pre-registration is recommended, but walk-in shopping is available as well. Priority will be given to those that have pre-registered for their time slot.

Next week Monday is Thanksgiving Day so the shop will be closed. Their will also be no blog that day, so if you are a little behind on your Bonnie and Camille Quilt Bee Blocks, you get an extra week to get caught up again.

New Fabric: March

 Happy Monday! Can you believe we are already halfway through March?

Today I want to share with you some of our newest Fabrics. 

Moda

Sanctuary by 3 Sisters, this collection is soft and dreamy with big florals, and a soft palette of grey, pink, blue and cream. 

Dwell In Possibility by Gingiber. This one had a really fun color combination of black, cream, grey, orange and olive type green. The florals are beautiful and it has a fun Moth Print in several colors too. We have a kit made up for it, and Esther made a wallet which features the wallet beautifully!

 

On The Go by Stacy Iest Hsu is a fantastic kids line with bright colors, and fun prints. We have a kit made up for this collection too. 

We have another new collection from Northcott, this one is called Journey. Esther will be showing how to make this Tote Bag using the panel from the Collection tomorrow on our Facebook Page. 

New Here is a collection by Dear Stella! Those pandas are so adorable. 

From Riley Blake we have a fun collection called Bloom and Grow, I picked a quilt for this over the weekend, and got the fabric for my sample cut today, so hopefully soon I can share it with you! It is a fairly simple project that should go together pretty quick.

Pollinate is a really bright collection that has me craving summer in a big way!

Little Forester is also new in the shop. It is so cute!

New Fabric

Happy Monday! 

Today I want to share with you some of the newest fabric collections that we have available in the shop. 

It has been a month full of shipments and we are in love with each and every new collection. It may be a good thing we had to cancel our trips to Florida because now we have a whole month of extra sewing time!

We have several new collections from Moda

Cider from Basic Grey has arrived, we are waiting on a couple of the coordinating grunges to finish off the precuts, but all the prints in the collection are available for purchase. 

Hello Sunshine by Abi Hall is so cheerful and I have a simple half hexagon quilt planned for it, the strips are cut already we just need to run them through the Accuquilt Go and than we will have kits available. 

Moody Blooms by Create Joy Project is in the shop and selling very quickly. There is also a large panel that goes with this collection that is really pretty!

  

True North 2 by Kate and Birdie is also available. This one is designed specifically for Canada and features, Canadian Geese, Maple Leaves, camping trailers and forest prints. This one is available in store, and we are working on getting it added to the website. 

From Art Gallery we have 

Luna and Laurel, two of the bolts are still on their way but the others are here and are selling pretty quick. 

Kismet came in just a couple weeks ago and several of the bolts are nearly empty already!

Aquarelle is a more colorful collection with deep rich colors. 

Snow Day by Mister Domestic is a collection of wintery blues and teals and really fun prints!

Homebody has arrived to our shop, but it still in the shipping boxes, it should be available by the end of the week. 

We have a Northcott line called Shimmer - Eclipse that is also available in our shop and on our website. There is a blue colorway called Iceberg and a Black/Brown colorway called Black Earth

Carrie will have the second month of her Garden Sampler BOM, and our Bonnie and Camille Quilt Bee starts Monday, I have decided to use a fat quarter bundle of Figs and Shirtings by Fig Tree for my quilt and will add a photo of my fabrics to our Facebook Page tomorrow, I can't wait to see your fabric choices, send me an email

New Fabric Collections

 Happy Thursday, here in Coaldale it is crazy windy today, our basketball net fell down and broke in three places, and the slide blew off our play set today! I have been hiding in the house catching up on housework and doing some quilting. 

It has been awhile again since I have shared new fabric collections so I am going to do that today. 

From Art Gallery the newest collections in our shop are Terra Kotta, Flowerette, Day Trip and Hooked. 

Terra Kotta is exactly the colors that come to mind when you think of terra cotta pots. Lots of shades of oranges from white with an orange print, to peachy orange, mustard yellow, rusty red orange and everywhere in between. Here is a link to the lookbook if you need some inspiration on what to make. 

Flowerette is a collection made up of some great florals. I am planning to make this Petal Sparks Quilt with it. There is a lookbook here with some really fun ideas in it if you want to take a peek. 

  

Day Trip is such a fun collection made up of fun prints and a unique color combination. That taco print is just so cute, and those goats are really fun!

  

Hooked is the latest collection from Mister Domestic and arrived today so I do not have photos of it yet to share here. But here is the link to the lookbook and you can check out the fabrics as well as get some project ideas. 

Our newest collections from Moda include Apricot and Ash by Corey Yoder and Fairy Dust by V and Co. 

Apricot and Ash has been very popular and we have a couple kits made from it as well. And the Moda Box kit just arrived this week for it too. The Truck kit is made from a variety of Corey Yoder collections and the other two are made completely from Apricot and Ash. 

  

Fairy Dust by V and Co is an ombre collection with silver stars. The color and the stars are most concentrated at the selvedges and fade as you get to the center of the fabric. I made a quilt with it on Saturday during our Jelly Roll Sew Off and I love it, I ended up cutting the borders length of fabric so I have an Ombre Effect around the out edge of my quilt.

Designer Spotlight: Maureen Cracknell and Alexandra Bordallo

Wow, I woke up this morning and was welcomed right back to winter when I opened my bedroom curtains, and looking at the weather forecast it looks like we will be here for a couple of days. The snow makes me want to hang out in my sewing room, but the laundry that 4 boys can accumulate in just a couple days needs to be tackled first. 

Today I want to share with you the story of a couple more Art Gallery Fabric Designers. 

First up is Maureen Cracknell. 

Maureen lives in Pennsylvania. She is a stay at home mom to 3 children, a blogger, a quilter and a lover of all things handmade. She began her blog about 10 years ago, here she shares her love of fabric, her projects and her fabric stashes. Maureen also shares several tutorials and quilt alongs on her blog as well as occassional giveaways. You can find her blog here.

Maureen as developed several fabric collections for Art Gallery. Enchanted Voyage is her most recent collection. You can see the look book here which will give you inspiration on what to make with these fun fabrics.  We have many of her earlier Fabric Collections in the shop as well, including Love Story which Carrie used to make this fun quilt












I also want to share about Alexandra Bordallo today. She is a new designer for Art Gallery and has developed two lines for the company, both of which we have in our shop.

She was born and raised in a town near Barcelona Spain, and currently lives there with her husband and little boy.
Alexandra started sewing at the age of 15 on her Grandmother's sewing machine. Her grandmother also taught her to crochewt and knit.
Alexandra has a passion for sewing and textile art, and started learning how to design and draw repeating patterns in 2014. Her designs all start in a sketchbook, which she than scans into Adobe Reader and starts the coloring process.
