New Fabric: November

Hello again. Our family is back from a wonderful vacation. We had beautiful weather and a great time spent together. This week I thought I would share with you some of the new fabric collections that have arrived in the last little bit.

We have a couple new fabric lines from Art Gallery in the shop. Katarina Rocella's a new collection "Twenty" is here.

Bookish by Sharon Holland is in the shop as well. It is selling quick and I think it would be great for Journal Covers to make and give away as gifts to friends and family.

Wild Forgotten by Bonnie Christine is new as well. I love the earthy colors in this collection, combined with the whimsical prints it is truly beautiful.

Check out the Look Books for each collection for some inspiration on what you could make. Look Book Link

We have a couple new Moda Collections in the shop too.

We have a new Collection from Kansas Troubles called Hope Blooms. We have the full collection and yardage available. I love that she included the purple in this collection, if you like it too you better shop soon, the purple prints always sell out first.

Sherri and Chelsi's new line Sincerely Yours is also here. It is such a great collection of pinks and purples, perfect for girly girls or for you to get a head start on your Valentines Day projects.

There is new Riley Blake Fabric in our shop too.

Coffee Chalk is so fun! Carrie quilted up the large panel that is included in the collection. And the prints would be perfect for mug rugs or aprons to gift to friends this Holiday Season.

If you love low volume prints be sure to check out Hush Hush, I am sure you will be able to find a few pieces for your stash.

And we have one new collection from Andover called Believe. This bright collection had great prints with Ice Cream, Unicorns and Rainbows!

As always there is many more new collections to view in store and on our website. So be sure to stop in and see us or browse our site.
Have a great week!

New Samples

Happy Monday. I am back from our family camping trip. It was cold for most of the trip but it was great to spend a week with my husband, boys and extended family members.

Today I want to share with you some of the new samples that we have hanging in the shop. Esther, Carrie and I have all finished up several projects in the last few weeks and there are several new quilts hanging on our walls which means there are also plenty of new kits available as well. Clicking on any of the photos will take you directly to the kit on our website.

We have a few new Fig Tree samples in the shop. Esther stitched up this one using Catalina and the pattern Chintz.

I made this quilt using Strawberries and Rhubarb and the pattern is called Sweet Pea by The Pattern Basket.

Esther is working on a Pumpkin quilt using Pumpkins and Blossoms and I believe it just needs to be quilted and bound and than it will be in the shop as well. We do have kits available now for it.

Esther just finished her Scrappy Happy Village Quilt using Cozy Up by Corey Yoder. The pattern is a free download from Moda Bakeshop. The yardage of Cozy Up is not available yet but we have Early Precuts of the collection and the pattern calls for a Layer Cake and some Solids. Kits are available and yardage should be shipping soon.

Carrie finished up this fun Tumbler Quilt using Across the Universe. The quilt finishes at 66"x80" and is the perfect size for a little boy or girl that loves monsters and outer space. I have a 6 year old that just loves this fabric!

Flea Market Fresh is a fun line inspired by Flea Market finds. I put together this quilt which is a free pattern from Moda. It went together fairly quickly and I love how the side borders are different from the top and bottom, we always seem to do the borders all in the same print, but this is a great option too!

Carrie finished up her Ava Kate quilt and it is hanging in the shop too. There is one kit left for this quilt. I love how the mix of plus blocks and solid squares and how well they show off all the prints in this collection!

We also have two new and quick Summer Quilts in the shop. Esther made them both as beach blankets, one to use here in Alberta, and a second to take to Florida.
They both go together really quick, one is a tumbler the other just 10" squares.

Have you been getting any quilting in this summer?

New Fabric: July

I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend! We spent the weekend hanging out with family and friends, swimming, boating, golfing and eating way too much food!

I want to share some of the new collections that arrived in our shop over the past few weeks.

The last few bolts of Flea Market Fresh by Cathe Holden For Moda have arrived. I love the purple in this cool vintage feeling collection!

Dance in Paris by Zen Chic is here as well. Carrie made this fun quilt from the book Stripology Mixology, it just takes a Jelly Roll plus some background Fabric.

Boudoir by Basic Grey arrived at the end of May and has been selling really quickly! Carrie made a Moda Love Quilt with the collection and we love how it turned out. She used a Charm Pack to make it table topper size but it would be a great quilt made with the 10" squares as well.

Powerplay from Benartex is a fantastic hockey themed line. I haven't shown this to my boys yet, or I am sure all four would be requesting a quilt from it.

Adventure is Calling is new as well. This collection was designed by Dani Mogstad for Riley Blake and it has been really popular. This one comes with a navy panel and a green panel which makes for a quick project. We also put together some Baby Tumbler Quilt Kits together with this collection and they are available in the shop and on our website.

We have a few new Art Gallery Lines as well.
Sunburst is exactly how it sounds, a burst of summer and sunshine. Esther is working on a beach blanket with this one and we will have kits available soon.

Boscage by Katarina Rocella is a great mix of prints and deep colors.

And for all those that have been waiting we have finally received some new flannels. There are more than 40 new prints and colors to choose from. But shop quick because Flannel always seems to sell quickly.

Have a wonderful week! Carrie will be here on Thursday to share the next block in her quilt along, and next Monday I will be going over the next set of blocks for The Bonnie and Camille Quilt Bee.

New Fabric: May

We have received so many boxes of new fabric in the last few weeks! Carrie was kept very busy entering all the new fabric into our computer system and putting it online, and I was busy finding homes in the shop for them! We have been sharing all the new collections on our Social Media Pages and I thought tonight I would share a few of them here.

We have a few new collections from Moda in the shop

First up is Sunday Stroll by Bonnie and Camille. Esther and I both have a quilt on the go for this collection and the Moda Boxed Kit finally arrived this past Friday, and there is just 2 left. Esther's project uses the 10" Log Cabin Duo ruler from Creative Grids and she isn't using a pattern she is just making a bunch of blocks with the ruler and sewing them together. A fat 1/8th bundle would work really well if you want to do the same and we have a demo on our Facebook Page of how the ruler works. I will be making kits up of my project tomorrow, so watch for that.

Sneak Peek of my project

Esther's Log Cabin Duo Blocks

Spring Brook by Corey Yoder is in the shop and we have sold lots of it already. Esther made this fun quilt with the fabric which is available as a kit, and we have the Moda Boxed Kit as well.

Smoke and Rust by Lella Boutique is selling really quick. This collection of neutrals with a pop of rusty orange is a great collection if you need to make a quilt for an older boy or man.

Illustrations by Alli K Design is a great collection made up of Black, Grey and White, and it comes with a really nice panel as well. My quilt from this is nearly finished (1 side of binding left) and kits are available.

We have a couple new Batik collections in the shop from Robert Kaufman.

These are the Modern Twist Batiks. I love the purple!

And there is this Animal Safari inspired line called Serengeti.

From Art Gallery we have a low volume collection called Soften The Volume.

Also from Art Gallery and on the opposite side of the spectrum is Andina, which is bright and bold!

Velvet by Amy Sinibaldi for Art Gallery lies nicely in the middle of the first two, with pretty color but not so bold!

Lilliput by Sharon Holland is also available now. We have made several bags from this collection and just love it!

From Riley Blake we have just one new collection called Ava Rose and it is beautiful!

And we have a darling baby line called City Hoppers from Michael Miller available too and we made kits that utilize the panel and larger prints, but have not yet made the sample for it.

As always there is more to see in the shop and on our website! Click here to visit our website.

Have a great week. As next Monday is a holiday there will be no blog post and the shop will be closed.

New Fabrics

Happy Monday, here in Coaldale we are having a snow day. There was quite the snowstorm this weekend with plenty of wind and snowing and it left roads and yards full of drifts. My boys are home from school for the day and are thrilled that there is a huge snowpile made in the church parking lot that is perfect for sledding.

We have recieved lots of new fabrics in the past couple weeks at the shop, so I thought I would share those with you today. Yardage is available for all these collections now and we are working on getting precuts and fat quarter bundles cut and packaged.

From Art Gallery we have Picturesque and Serenity Fusion.

As quoted from the Art Gallery Site: Katarina Roccella channels her inner William Morris in her latest collection, Picturesque! Capturing traditional 19th-century European designs with lush florals and contrasting embellishments.

This sums up the collection perfectly. Here is a link to the project look book which has lots of inspiration for what you could make with these fabrics.

Serenity Fusion is a collection of low volume prints in creams and blues and is calming just to look at!

Click on the link to check out the project look book for some great inspiration.

From Riley Blake we have this really fun collection called Wild At Heart. I started a quilt on Saturday for one of my boys with it, but it will be a sample in the shop first and we will have kits available for it as well. The pattern I am using is called One Way and I am doing the version using all prints rather than every other block being a solid. I did add a few grunges to break it up a little.

From Hoffman the Mosaic Masterpiece Tile Fabrics by Cheryl Lynch have arrived. These fabrics are printed to look like little 3/8" tiles and are perfect for the Mosaic quilts. We have patterns on order for these (they release later this month, and should be here early December). They would also  make really fun backgrounds, or borders for quilts too!

From Moda we have Balboa by Sherri and Chelsi. I was so excited for this collection to arrive, that when it came Carrie didn't even tell me, but let me discover it two days later when I went in to work! The colors in this one are so fun and different from their previous collections, with the added Orchid Purple.
My quilt is finished and ready to hang in the shop tomorrow!

Solana by Robin Pickens for Moda arrived Friday afternoon at the shop, and we hope to get it unboxed, priced and on display this week!

From Marcus Fabrics we have Blushing Dots by Laura Berringer. I made a baby quilt with it and I love how cute it turned out. Kits for this one will be ready as soon as the pattern books arrive, we sold out of them before we could put them in the kit.

Which fabrics are your favorite?
Click on any of the photos to shop the collection or visit our website by clicking on the link below.
We will be closed on Wednesday, November 11 in honor of Remembrance Day.
Carrie will be here on Thursday with another post on the Midnight Clear Block Of the Month.
Have a great week, we are hoping the snow sticks around so we can take the boys sledding on Wednesday.
