New Fabric: November

Hello again. Our family is back from a wonderful vacation. We had beautiful weather and a great time spent together. This week I thought I would share with you some of the new fabric collections that have arrived in the last little bit.

We have a couple new fabric lines from Art Gallery in the shop. Katarina Rocella's a new collection "Twenty" is here.

Bookish by Sharon Holland is in the shop as well. It is selling quick and I think it would be great for Journal Covers to make and give away as gifts to friends and family.

Wild Forgotten by Bonnie Christine is new as well. I love the earthy colors in this collection, combined with the whimsical prints it is truly beautiful.

Check out the Look Books for each collection for some inspiration on what you could make. Look Book Link

We have a couple new Moda Collections in the shop too.

We have a new Collection from Kansas Troubles called Hope Blooms. We have the full collection and yardage available. I love that she included the purple in this collection, if you like it too you better shop soon, the purple prints always sell out first.

Sherri and Chelsi's new line Sincerely Yours is also here. It is such a great collection of pinks and purples, perfect for girly girls or for you to get a head start on your Valentines Day projects.

There is new Riley Blake Fabric in our shop too.

Coffee Chalk is so fun! Carrie quilted up the large panel that is included in the collection. And the prints would be perfect for mug rugs or aprons to gift to friends this Holiday Season.

If you love low volume prints be sure to check out Hush Hush, I am sure you will be able to find a few pieces for your stash.

And we have one new collection from Andover called Believe. This bright collection had great prints with Ice Cream, Unicorns and Rainbows!

As always there is many more new collections to view in store and on our website. So be sure to stop in and see us or browse our site.
Have a great week!

New Fabric: October

Happy Monday. I hope you all had a good weekend, here in Coaldale the weather was beautiful and our family spent a lot of time outside. It was also the first year in quite a few that we did not have snow the first weekend of October, so that was a nice bonus.

Today I have a few new fabric lines to share with you.

We have the new Moda Lakeside Toweling in stock. If you click here you will find a good list of ideas on what to use it for and what to make. We did put a kit together called Sea Salt and it goes together super quickly.

Hustle and Bustle by Basic Grey is a new Christmas Collection. Carrie made the quilt in the photo using one of the patterns from Sew A Jelly Roll Day called Step This Way, we are putting kits together for this and they should be available soon.

Many of you have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Art Gallery Flannel, and it arrived just before Carrie's wedding. It is just as soft as I imagined it would be! It will be fantastic for quilts, backing, and even Pajama pants or pillow cases.

Cozy Up by Corey Yoder is also available now. It is selling rather quickly so if it is on your must have list I suggest you act quickly. We made a couple kits up for this line, one is sold out already but we still have kits for Roadside Harvest and Scrappy Happy Village.

And for all the glampers we have a new collection instore for you too. It is called Joy in the Journey.

This week Thursday-Saturday is our Fall Clearance Sale in our Classroom, pre-registration is recommended, but walk-in shopping is available as well. Priority will be given to those that have pre-registered for their time slot.

Next week Monday is Thanksgiving Day so the shop will be closed. Their will also be no blog that day, so if you are a little behind on your Bonnie and Camille Quilt Bee Blocks, you get an extra week to get caught up again.
Have a great week and Happy Thanksgiving!

New Samples

Happy Monday. I am back from our family camping trip. It was cold for most of the trip but it was great to spend a week with my husband, boys and extended family members.

Today I want to share with you some of the new samples that we have hanging in the shop. Esther, Carrie and I have all finished up several projects in the last few weeks and there are several new quilts hanging on our walls which means there are also plenty of new kits available as well. Clicking on any of the photos will take you directly to the kit on our website.

We have a few new Fig Tree samples in the shop. Esther stitched up this one using Catalina and the pattern Chintz.

I made this quilt using Strawberries and Rhubarb and the pattern is called Sweet Pea by The Pattern Basket.

Esther is working on a Pumpkin quilt using Pumpkins and Blossoms and I believe it just needs to be quilted and bound and than it will be in the shop as well. We do have kits available now for it.

Esther just finished her Scrappy Happy Village Quilt using Cozy Up by Corey Yoder. The pattern is a free download from Moda Bakeshop. The yardage of Cozy Up is not available yet but we have Early Precuts of the collection and the pattern calls for a Layer Cake and some Solids. Kits are available and yardage should be shipping soon.

Carrie finished up this fun Tumbler Quilt using Across the Universe. The quilt finishes at 66"x80" and is the perfect size for a little boy or girl that loves monsters and outer space. I have a 6 year old that just loves this fabric!

Flea Market Fresh is a fun line inspired by Flea Market finds. I put together this quilt which is a free pattern from Moda. It went together fairly quickly and I love how the side borders are different from the top and bottom, we always seem to do the borders all in the same print, but this is a great option too!

Carrie finished up her Ava Kate quilt and it is hanging in the shop too. There is one kit left for this quilt. I love how the mix of plus blocks and solid squares and how well they show off all the prints in this collection!

We also have two new and quick Summer Quilts in the shop. Esther made them both as beach blankets, one to use here in Alberta, and a second to take to Florida.
They both go together really quick, one is a tumbler the other just 10" squares.

Have you been getting any quilting in this summer?

New Fabric: July

I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend! We spent the weekend hanging out with family and friends, swimming, boating, golfing and eating way too much food!

I want to share some of the new collections that arrived in our shop over the past few weeks.

The last few bolts of Flea Market Fresh by Cathe Holden For Moda have arrived. I love the purple in this cool vintage feeling collection!

Dance in Paris by Zen Chic is here as well. Carrie made this fun quilt from the book Stripology Mixology, it just takes a Jelly Roll plus some background Fabric.

Boudoir by Basic Grey arrived at the end of May and has been selling really quickly! Carrie made a Moda Love Quilt with the collection and we love how it turned out. She used a Charm Pack to make it table topper size but it would be a great quilt made with the 10" squares as well.

Powerplay from Benartex is a fantastic hockey themed line. I haven't shown this to my boys yet, or I am sure all four would be requesting a quilt from it.

Adventure is Calling is new as well. This collection was designed by Dani Mogstad for Riley Blake and it has been really popular. This one comes with a navy panel and a green panel which makes for a quick project. We also put together some Baby Tumbler Quilt Kits together with this collection and they are available in the shop and on our website.

We have a few new Art Gallery Lines as well.
Sunburst is exactly how it sounds, a burst of summer and sunshine. Esther is working on a beach blanket with this one and we will have kits available soon.

Boscage by Katarina Rocella is a great mix of prints and deep colors.

And for all those that have been waiting we have finally received some new flannels. There are more than 40 new prints and colors to choose from. But shop quick because Flannel always seems to sell quickly.

Have a wonderful week! Carrie will be here on Thursday to share the next block in her quilt along, and next Monday I will be going over the next set of blocks for The Bonnie and Camille Quilt Bee.

New Fabric: April

Happy Thursday! Today I want to share with you just a few of the new collections that arrived in our shop over the last couple weeks. I have been showing them all on our Social Media so if you follow us there this may not be new to you, but if you don't have Social Media this is a quick way to see what is new.

We have 3 new Riley Blake collections.

Gingham Gardens by My Mind's Eye. This collection is so soft and has such pretty prints. Esther is working on a sample for this fabric.

Rocky Mountain Wild by Corinne Wells. I love this collection and that it was inspired by the Wildflowers of the Rocky Mountains which are so close to home!

Timberland. This collection is selling really quick and several bolts are already gone. We have a kit put together and I just need to get the sample quilted and bound, but here is a sneak peek.

We have a couple new Robert Kaufman collections in the shop

Warehouse District by Leslie Tucker Jenison has also been flying out the door. I made a fun Duffel bag from one of the prints and some bright green cork!

Bright Side by Vanessa Lillrose and Linda Fitch, is bright and makes me think of summer. It has some fantastic pieces to add to your collection!
I made a Roxy Wallet with Irridiescent Hardware and I love how "Summery" it turned out.

From Moda we have a few new collections too!
Happy Days by Sherri and Chelsi is very springy. The quilt in the photo is called Stella from the Stripology Mixology book and just takes a layer cake. It goes together really fast and there is no waste.
I have another quilt planned but there are a few other samples ahead of it.
Sunday Stroll by Bonnie and Camille is available as well. We didn't get all the prints in the line, but we did get precuts that have each piece of the collection.

Spring Brook by Corey Yoder is here too. Several bolts of this collection are sold out already but there is still lots to choose from. Esther is working on a quilt with this fabric right now, so we should have a sample hanging in the shop soon.

Sunshine Soul by Create Joy. I love the watercolor effect in these pieces and have a fun Butterfly Quilt planned that I hope to start on this evening.

I hope some of these collections catch your eye! You can shop on our website and instore. Curbside pickup is still an option and we ship all over the world.

With spring and summer activities starting up right away, I am going to go down to 1 post per week for the foreseeable future. I will be posting each Monday. Carrie will still post her block of the month on the first Thursday.
Have a fantastic weekend, the weather for Coaldale is looking fantastic, so I am sure we will be going to my in-laws to visit them on their patio and maybe making a trip to the park.
