New Samples

Happy Monday. I am back from our family camping trip. It was cold for most of the trip but it was great to spend a week with my husband, boys and extended family members.

Today I want to share with you some of the new samples that we have hanging in the shop. Esther, Carrie and I have all finished up several projects in the last few weeks and there are several new quilts hanging on our walls which means there are also plenty of new kits available as well. Clicking on any of the photos will take you directly to the kit on our website.

We have a few new Fig Tree samples in the shop. Esther stitched up this one using Catalina and the pattern Chintz.

I made this quilt using Strawberries and Rhubarb and the pattern is called Sweet Pea by The Pattern Basket.

Esther is working on a Pumpkin quilt using Pumpkins and Blossoms and I believe it just needs to be quilted and bound and than it will be in the shop as well. We do have kits available now for it.

Esther just finished her Scrappy Happy Village Quilt using Cozy Up by Corey Yoder. The pattern is a free download from Moda Bakeshop. The yardage of Cozy Up is not available yet but we have Early Precuts of the collection and the pattern calls for a Layer Cake and some Solids. Kits are available and yardage should be shipping soon.

Carrie finished up this fun Tumbler Quilt using Across the Universe. The quilt finishes at 66"x80" and is the perfect size for a little boy or girl that loves monsters and outer space. I have a 6 year old that just loves this fabric!

Flea Market Fresh is a fun line inspired by Flea Market finds. I put together this quilt which is a free pattern from Moda. It went together fairly quickly and I love how the side borders are different from the top and bottom, we always seem to do the borders all in the same print, but this is a great option too!

Carrie finished up her Ava Kate quilt and it is hanging in the shop too. There is one kit left for this quilt. I love how the mix of plus blocks and solid squares and how well they show off all the prints in this collection!

We also have two new and quick Summer Quilts in the shop. Esther made them both as beach blankets, one to use here in Alberta, and a second to take to Florida.
They both go together really quick, one is a tumbler the other just 10" squares.

Have you been getting any quilting in this summer?

Recent Finshes

 Happy Monday.

It has been quite awhile since I have shared some finished projects on here, so I have decided to show some off this evening.

Esther has several new quilts hanging in the shop.

THe first is using Day Dream Fabrics from Art Gallery. This was the free pattern designed for the collection and we have Kits available as well.

The second is using Hello Sunshine by Abi Hall and the pattern is Over the Rainbow by Chelsi Stratton. We will be making a couple kits up for this quilt this week.

She also made this quilt using Deb Strains collection Bee Grateful. This one is a Moda Box Kit ,meaning it comes in a really cute box. There are just a few left so if you like it don't wait too long.

She has also made a lot of the bags in the last few weeks!

Audrey by Sallie Tomato
Myrna by Sallie Tomato

Luci by Sallie Tomato

Carrie has been busy too. She Made this Moda Love Quilt using a charm pack of Boudoir by Basic Grey.

She also made this quilt using Abby Rose Fabric by Robin Pickens and the pattern is called Hopscotch and is also by Robin. There are a couple kits left for this quilt.

How fun and bright is this quilt swirl using Pollinate!?!? The pattern is called Nightingale by Lo and Behold Stitchery. We have kits made up for this quilt too, and a full photo will be on our website soon.

She also made a Myrna Crossbody Zippered bag

I too have finished several quilts recently.

This one uses Timberland from Riley Blake and a Missouri Star Pattern called Jelly Basket. I think there is one kit left.

I have loved the colors and prints in Bloom and Grow since it arrived and made this Teacup also a Missouri Star Pattern, and kits are coming soon.

This is Joyful Stars a Cotton and Joy Pattern and I used V and Co's Fariydust Ombre to make it. We made kits for this one too.

Finally this one is available in a kit too. This one is made with Art Gallery's Flower Society Collection and another Missouri Star Pattern named Hopscotch.

Have you finished up any quilts lately? We would love to see, tag us on Facebook or Instagram @chickenfeedquilts or send us a photo via email, or come in to the shop and show it off in person!
Have a Great Week, Kayla

New Fabric

Happy Thursday, it has been a hectic week at the shop. We ran a sale on Facebook both Monday and Tuesday Morning. This was actually a lot of work, we had to take the photos, edit them to add the price and how many were available. Next they had to get uploaded to Facebook at exactly 10:00am, I promise there was a couple trial runs on my personal page to see how long it took to upload the photos. Afterwards we had to go through and sort all the purchases into names, get invoices made and sent out and then get them ready for pickup or packaged to ship. It went fairly smooth without a lot of hiccups so that was great, and we sold everything that was listed so that was amazing! Thank you again to everyone that joined in on the fun.
We are planning another one for next week so be sure to login to Facebook on Monday morning at 10:00am to see what's up for grabs this time around.
In between all of the work for the sale, we have been getting lots of online and phone orders and we have been busy getting those packed up too.
In addition to that we are still receiving boxes of fabric and we have been getting those unpacked and adding the new items to the website as quick as we can. I think next week we will do another box opening if Carrie hasn't got to them all yet.
Bonnie and Camille's new collection At Home is up on the website and available for purchase. There is two colorways for this one and we have the full line of both. You can purchase it here
Abby Rose by Robin Pickens is also ready to go on the website. This one is so springy! You can purchase yardage here
For both of these collections we have not yet had time to make the precuts but will get to it as soon as we get accustomed to this different way of doing sales and service.
Also new is Tiger Fly by Sarah Watts for Ruby Star Society. We only ordered the panels and bolts needed to make the two quilts pictured, and already Esther and myself have both called dibs on making one each. Esther is doing the lattice one called Delilah,
and I will be starting this one tomorrow afternoon, fingers crossed.
The kits are not quite completed but as soon as they are their status on the website will change from coming soon to available!
Painted Meadow also by Robin Pickens came into the shop right around Christmas and has been selling quickly but I want to share with you what the fun table runner Jenn made with it, and even better she made Kits so you can make one too. I made a quilt for my Mom with the fabric too, I used the Dwell 2 pattern by Thimble Blossoms which you can purchase on our website and a Layer Cake of the Painted Meadow and some background fabric. Painted Meadow is available by clicking here.

Have a great weekend!
